A group of arctic gulls take flight on a winter's day, soaring high in to the white sky. Their extended wings cast a series of arching shapes that draw the eye across the frame. We are also given a sense of perspective with the birds' soaring motion as they swoop quickly towards us. The photograph is a simple one yet very effective at making a visual statement.
